Swara Vigyan:
Swara Vigyan is an ancient
science which is used to control prana through breath. swara yoga is still
practised in India, it is not well known, either in the East or in the West.
It was taught through direct transmission from Guru to disciple. In this( and
in Future) posts I will show you how you can practice it and we will talk in
detail about topics like Nadis, Prana, Chakras, Yoga, Some important books and
many more.
Basics
Swara-
Flow of prana and air through the nostrils.
Nadi- Their are more than 72000 nadis according
to Hath Yoga Pradipika, 300000 according to Prapanchsara Tantra and 320000
acording to Shiv Samhita. The important ones are Ida, Pingala and Sushumna.
Prana- VItal flow of energy in nadis, mainly 5
types.
So their are 3 nadis in which prana flows, Nadis
are subtle in nature, you can not see it with your eyes or some microscope, so
Prana and of course air flows in those nadis for certain periods, when air flows
in right nostrils(pingala) its called Surya Swara and when Prana flows in left
nostrils(Ida) its called Chandra swara but sometimes it flows in both Surya and
Chandra swara, when it happens it means sushumna nadi is active. Now what yogis
aim to do is they try to extend the time of flow in sushumna for some reasons,
I will tell you those reasons, but first I am going to tell you the work of each nadi, lets start with,

it is better to do work

Shunya means zero means nothing, so in this swara you do nothing but maditate

We will talk about it in detail in our series of next posts.
